Accounting Technician
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) are the relevant professional bodies for accounting technicians in Ireland. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is a “Recognised Professional Body” under Section 191 of the Companies Act 1990. This entitles ACCA to grant Registered Auditor status to members meeting the requirements of the Act and the ACCA rules and to issue practising certificates within the meaning of Section 182 of the Companies Act 1990. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland is also a competent authority for the provision of audit services in Ireland and licenses its member to provide auditing and accounting services in Ireland.
