Export of cultural goods/objects from Ireland to destinations within the EU and Worldwide

Licences to export cultural goods/objects from Ireland to destinations within the EU and further afield are issued by the relevant National Cultural Institution and/or the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts,
Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, depending on the nature of the cultural object, document, painting etc involved.

All applications for such licences are considered, having regard to the provision of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1081/2012 which lays down provisions for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 116/2009 on the export of cultural goods/objects.
